LANSING, April 4, 2000 — Most everyone wishes at one time or another to win a great Lottery prize. That wish recently came true for Sandra Voorhees of Eaton Rapids when she scratched off a Michigan Lottery "3 Wishes" instant ticket to reveal she had won a $30,000 top prize!

The 45-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at Clones Country Store, 4620 Onondaga Road, in Onondaga.

"When I scratched off the ticket I couldn’t believe what I was seeing," Voorhees said. "I made my husband, James, get up early the next morning to make sure the ticket was still there and that we had really won!"

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the winner said she locked it in a gun cabinet to ensure its safety.

When not working on craft projects, Voorhees said she enjoys playing Michigan Lottery games. She said she has been playing Lottery games for the past 27 years and she truly enjoys the wide variety of games the Lottery offers. The lucky lady said she plans to use her winnings to complete some remodeling projects in her home.
