LANSING, March 2, 2000 — A Sterling Heights man recently experienced a bit of early March madness when he scratched off a Michigan Lottery "High Score" ticket to reveal he had won a $200,000 top prize!
"I picked up the ticket at a gas station and scratched it off in my car," the winner said. "I knew right away what I had won but was too stunned to go anywhere! I just sat in the car and thought about what was happening. Once
I calmed down I was able to share the good news with my wife, mom and father-in-law. I had each of them look at the ticket as well to verify that I had really won. I was very surprised that I won so much money!"
When not playing or watching sports, the winner said he enjoys playing Michigan Lottery games. He added that he has been playing Lottery games for the past 15 years and he truly enjoys the wide variety of games offered.
The winning ticket was purchased at Speedway #2333, 43400 Van Dyke Ave., in Sterling Heights. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the 33-year-old winner said he kept it in a safe place in his house.
The lucky man said he doesn’t have any plans for his winnings yet. He added that he hasn’t really had much time to think about it yet!
