LANSING, September 21, 1999 — Wisam Abbo of Troy is celebrating in a big way after winning a top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game! He matched the first five numbers in the September 10 Big Game drawing to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 16, 20, 31, 32, 48 and the Big Money Ball Number was 6.

"I picked up a winning number report from the store so I could check my ticket," Abbo said. "I was very excited to see that I had won! It was a complete surprise."

The computer enthusiast said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past five years and he enjoys the wide variety of games the Lottery has to offer. Abbo purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at House of Beer #1, 1065 E. 9 Mile Road, in Hazel Park.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, Abbo said he kept it in a safe place in his house. The lucky man said he doesn’t have any special plans for his winnings at this time.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is tonight, September 21, with an expected jackpot of $36 million.
