Second Time is a Charm! Kawkawlin Woman Strikes it Rich Again With Michigan Lottery's Cash 5 Game!

LANSING, September 21, 1999 — A Kawkawlin woman thinks the Michigan Lottery’s Cash 5 game is "twice as nice," now that she’s won the $100,000 top prize for the second time!

The 33-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, most recently collected the game’s top prize by matching all five numbers in the September 15 drawing — 8, 9, 15, 19 and 38.

The winning "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Total Petroleum #4281, 106 S. Huron Road, in Kawkawlin. The lucky lady won the game’s $100,000 top prize for the first time in May 1992, just two month’s after the game’s debut.

"I called the Lottery’s toll-free phone number (800-822-8888) to get the winning numbers," the winner said. "I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! I was completely surprised and shocked that I had won again!"

The Kawkawlin woman said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past eight years, and she particularly enjoys Cash 5 and Keno. She said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills.

The winner offered the following words of wisdom to other Lottery hopefuls: "Just keep buying tickets — it is the only way you can win!"

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday through Friday at 7:28 p.m. Players can win $100,000 for matching all five winning numbers; $350 for matching four of five numbers drawn; or $20 for matching three of five numbers drawn.

Tickets are available for Cash 5 and other Michigan Lottery on-line games at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers throughout the state.
