LANSING, July 6, 1999 – Lawrence Zdanowitz of Jackson is celebrating in a big way after winning a top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game! He matched the first five numbers in the June 25 Big Game drawing to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 2, 28, 34, 36, 48 and the Big Money Ball number was 35.
"I read the winning numbers in the Jackson Citizen Patriot," Zdanowitz said. "I was completely surprised I matched the first five numbers! I called the Lottery office right away to verify that I really had a winning ticket. At first I thought the prize for matching five numbers was $100,000. I found out the prize was really $150,000 after picking up a Big Game brochure at the store."
The Jackson man said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games occasionally for the past 10 years, and his favorite is The Big Game. Zdanowitz purchased the winning Big Game ticket at Meijer Inc. #30, 2777 Airport Road, in Jackson. The lucky man said he doesn’t have any plans for his winnings yet.
The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is tonight, July 6, with an expected jackpot of $29 million.
