Persistence Pays Off For Henry Huntzicker Of Southgate As He Collects $150,000 In Michigan Lottery's Big Game!

LANSING, June 8, 1999 – His belief that he would one day win big with the Michigan Lottery really paid off for Henry Huntzicker, Sr. of Southgate!  Huntzicker matched the first five numbers in the May 25 Big Game drawing to win the game’s $150,000 prize.

That day’s winning numbers were: 12, 35, 36, 38, 39 and the Big Money Ball number was 30.

"The day after the drawing I was talking to a friend and I asked him if he happened to have the winning numbers," Huntzicker said.  "He gave me the numbers and I was completely surprised to see that I had matched the first five!  I usually match one or two numbers when I buy tickets – this is quite a change for me!"

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, Huntzicker kept it in a safe place in his house. The lucky man, who works in the quality department at Crown Group in Ecorse, has been a regular Michigan Lottery player for the past 26 years.  He said his favorite Michigan Lottery games are The Big Game and instant tickets.

The 56-year-old winner said he plans to use his winnings to make investments for his upcoming retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at O’Briens Super Market, 185 Southfield Road, in Ecorse.

The Southgate man offered the following advice for other Lottery hopefuls: "Keep buying tickets – you might get lucky!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia.  The next drawing will be conducted tonight, June 8 and the expected jackpot is $14 million.
