LANSING, December 31, 1997 – Residents in Gratiot and Montcalm counties will have fond memories of 1997 – each recently won a top prize from the Michigan Lottery!
In Perrinton, John Meyers matched the first five Big Game numbers drawn November 21 – 2, 5, 16, 18, 42, and the Big Money Ball number, 11 – to win the game’s $150,000 prize!
Meyers, a self-employed store owner, has been a regular Michigan Lottery player for several years. He plans to use his winnings to pay bills. The 54-year-old Meyers is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys golfing, hunting and boating.
The winning Big Game ticket was purchased at Perrinton Party Store, 111 S. Robinson St., in Perrinton.
In Stanton, Jerry Ann Estep said she was in "disbelief" after winning $25,000 in the "Holiday Cash" instant game.
Estep, 55, is a regular Michigan Lottery player who also enjoys golf and travel. She said she had no immediate plans for her winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Jorgensens Supermarket #444, 215 N. State St., in Stanton. Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
