LANSING, April 3, 1997 — There are plenty of reasons for Michigan Lottery players to try their luck on The Big Game this Friday — 77 MILLION reasons, to be exact!
The jackpot for The Big Game drawing on April 4 is an estimated $77 million, the largest jackpot in Big Game and Michigan Lottery history. If one ticket matches all six Big Game numbers on Friday, the winner would receive 20 annual installments of $3,850,000, before taxes. That’s a weekly paycheck of more than $74,000!
“We’re thrilled about The Big Game jackpot,” said Michigan Lottery Commissioner Bill Martin. “It’s a record amount for the Lottery, and it’s certainly generating a lot of excitement among our players. We’d love to make a dream come true for someone here in Michigan.”
The Big Game offers nine ways to win cash prizes. Players pay $1 for each play, and choose five numbers from 1 to 50, as well as one additional number from 1 to 25.
In addition, the Lottery still hasn’t heard from the winner of the $34 million Michigan Lotto jackpot from the March 15 drawing. The winning ticket — bearing the winning numbers 3, 15, 24, 29, 37 and 43 — was sold at Meijer Inc. #52, 1350 W. Lake Lansing Road, in East Lansing. The winner has one year from the draw date to claim the prize or it reverts to the state School Aid Fund.
