Fantasy 5The first day of December started off with a bang in 2012, with two winning tickets being sold for the $105,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot. It was almost as if Santa was letting the Lottery help him with his list this year because the Fantasy 5 jackpot was won 10 times before December 25 yielding those lucky Michigan Lottery players over $1.1 million!

The winner of the December 3 drawing who claimed $105,000 is using his winnings to reopen his personal business. “This win came just in time! Due to the economy I had to close my business earlier this year.”  This ticket was purchased at Frontier Market located at 149 Beadle Lake Rd., in Battle Creek.

Kenneth Duckworth of Clio won $105,000 in the December 14 drawing. He purchased the ticket at the Clio Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he is a member. The Clio FOE is located at 13267 N. Saginaw Rd., in Saginaw. A “Golden Anniversary” party is among Duckworth’s plans for the winnings.

December 19 drawing made another winner $100,000 richer! She bought her winning ticket at The Little Store on the Corner, located at 6020 Fort Rd., in Saginaw. A new car is the first thing on her list to get with her Fantasy 5 prize money!

Closing out our 10 days of Fantasy 5 jackpot winners is the claimant of the December 23 drawings jackpot.  The second largest of the December jackpots, $131,393 was claimed by a couple who celebrated 54 Christmases together in 2012. Their prize money is going directly to the bank so they can comfortably enjoy many more Christmases together for years to come.  The 7-Eleven, located at 3461 Airport Rd., in Waterford sold this ticket.

Santa comes early for $500k winner!

A lucky Lottery player from Shepherd is looking forward to a very Merry Christmas after winning $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Instant game Holiday Millions!

 The player was hoping to win some money, but never thought he’d get the big prize. “I left BSL-L-IG635Dthe tickets in the van while I went into my friend’s house to watch the football game,” he said. The player (who prefers to remain anonymous) got so involved in the game that he forgot all about the four instant tickets waiting for him in the van.

Later, while he was driving home, his curiosity about the tickets got the best of him. So he pulled off the road, and started ticket scratching.

The first ticket was a $15 winner. The second netted the player $10. This was getting good! The player eagerly scratched off the third ticket, and was stunned. I know I didn’t see what I just think I saw, he thought to himself. The player headed home, not knowing what to think. After all, he was reading his ticket in the dark with nothing but the van’s dome light, maybe he was wrong.

But after he arrived at home and re-checked the ticket, there was no doubt in his mind. He was so excited that he called his friend, the one he’d just watched football with, to tell him “I don’t think I’ll be coming in to work tomorrow!”

“When I got home with the kids, he was sitting in the middle of the floor with this strange look on his face,” said his wife of 16 years.

When he showed her the ticket, she began to scream and jump around. “I was a little worried for a minute,” said the winner laughing. “She was eating something and I thought she might choke!”

The winning ticket was sold at Blodgett Foodmart #303 located at 48 S. Coleman Rd. in Mt. Pleasant.

Lottery heats up the winter! It’s Blazing 500s again!

Last summer 500 Player’s Club members won $500 in 500 hours! It was so exciting, we’re going to do it again!

Blazing 500s offers the chance for 500 lucky players to win $500 during the promotional Blazing_500speriod. The first winner will be drawn at 2 p.m. on December 20 and the last winner will be chosen at 9 a.m. on January 10. There will be a drawing  every hour for that 500 hour stretch, and with each one a Player’s Club member will become $500 richer! Blazing 500s is back! During this hot promotion, which runs from December 20 until January 10, 2013, Player’s Club members submitting an entry into the Play It Again $1 million drawing will also earn an entry in the Blazing 500s drawings!

Players who are not members of Player’s Club must join in order to participate. They can do so at www.michiganlottery.com. Player’s Club is free to join.

An entry is equal to $10 worth of non-winning tickets submitted beginning December 20 at 1 p.m. until January 10, 2013 at 8:59 a.m.
