Oakland County Man Wins $2 Million Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Magnificent 7s Instant Game

Winning TicketAn Oakland County man was extra thankful this Thanksgiving after winning $2 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Magnificent 7s instant game Thanksgiving morning.

The lucky 64-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at the Kroger store, located at 9741 Dixie Highway in Clarkston.

“I bought a Magnificent 7s ticket while I was at the store Thanksgiving morning and I scratched it when I got in my car,” said the player. “When I saw I’d won $2 million, I went completely numb. I drove straight to a family members house to have them look the ticket over and lock it in their safe. It’s safe to say I was feeling extra thankful this Thanksgiving!”

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.2 million rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to purchase a cottage.

Players have won more than $28 million playing Magnificent 7s which launched in September. Each $20 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $2 million. More than $70 million in prizes remain, including two $2 million top prizes and 47 $2,000 prizes.

In 2021, Lottery players won more than $1.8 billion playing instant games.

Montmorency County Man Wins $300,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Wild Time Deluxe Instant Game

Winning TicketPurchasing a Wild Time Deluxe ticket on a whim paid off for a Montmorency County man who won the game’s $300,000 top prize.

The lucky 30-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket at Murphy USA, located at 859 Edelweiss Parkway in Gaylord.

“I don’t play instant games often, but I do like to buy them here and there,” said the player. “I decided to purchase a Wild Time Deluxe ticket on a whim while I was at the store one day and then scanned it a few days later to check it. When I realized how much I’d won, I was shocked!”

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He plans to save his winnings.

Players have won more than $55 million playing Wild Time Deluxe which launched in April 2021. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. More than $10 million in prizes remain, including four $25,000 prices and 12 $2,500 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.

In 2021, Lottery players won more than $1.8 billion playing instant games.

Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $429 Million for Tonight’s Drawing

Mega Millions LogoThere’s a huge pile of cash up for grabs in the Mega Millions jackpot which now stands at $429 million for tonight’s drawing. The cash option for the jackpot is $233 million.

If a lucky player wins the jackpot, it will be the third largest Mega Millions jackpot won this year. In July, one ticket purchased in Illinois matched the five white balls and Mega ball to win a $1.3 billion jackpot. The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in October when two winning tickets purchased in Florida and California split the $502 million jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in Michigan in Jan. 2021 when an Oakland County lottery club won $1.05 billion. That jackpot was the largest ever won in Michigan and the fifth largest in U.S. lottery history.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mega Millions tickets may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com and at any of the Lottery’s 10,500 retailers around the state until 10:45 p.m. the day of the drawing.

Macomb County Woman Wins $100,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s $300,000,000 Diamond Riches Second Chance Game

A Macomb County woman thought someone was playing a joke on her when she got a call from the Lottery informing her she won a $100,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s $300,000,000 Diamond Riches Second Chance game.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, won $100,000 after she was selected in a random drawing that took place on Nov. 16. She earned entries into the giveaway by scanning non-winning $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets on the Michigan Lottery app.

“I saved up a bunch of my non-winning $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets and scanned about 100 of them on the last day of the promotion,” said the 60-year-old player. “When I got the call informing me that I’d won the $100,000 prize, I thought someone was playing a joke on me. After talking with the Lottery employee and realizing that I’d really won, I was completely stunned!

“Winning has been such a surreal feeling. The past few weeks I have reread the email from the Lottery informing me of the prize multiple times waiting for it to sink in.”

The player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to pay bills and then save the remainder.

The tenth and final $300,000,000 Diamond Riches second chance drawing took place on Nov. 16. Each drawing awarded:

  • One winner of $100,000
  • Five winners of $10,000
  • Twenty winners of $1,000
  • Sixty winners of $500

Sterling Heights Woman Wins $25,000 a Year for Life Playing Lucky For Life

Winning ticketA Sterling Heights woman thought she was dreaming when she won a $25,000 a Year for Life prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Lucky For Life game.

Rita Younan, 49, matched the five white balls drawn Nov. 18 – 20-24-26-33-41 – to win the big prize. She bought her winning ticket at Tiger Smoke and Vape, located at 15196 East 13 Mile Road in Warren.

“I don’t play Lucky For Life often, but I was feeling lucky, so I decided to purchase a ticket,” said Younan. “The next day, I scanned my ticket on the Lottery app ticket scanner to check it. When the winning amount came up on the screen, I thought I was dreaming! I was very excited, but I had a hard time believing it was real.”

Younan visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her prize. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000 rather than annuity payments of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is greater. With her winnings, she plans to pay bills and purchase a home.

For just $2 per play, Lucky For Life gives Lottery players a chance to win prizes ranging from $3 to a lifetime of cash. To win the game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life, players must match all five winning numbers ranging from 1 to 48, plus one Lucky Ball ranging from 1 to 18. Players who match all five winning numbers, but not the Lucky Ball, will win $25,000 a year for life. Drawings take place at 10:38 p.m. seven days-a-week.
