$900 Million Jackpot Up for Grabs in Tonight’s Powerball Drawing

PowerballThe third-largest Powerball jackpot in history is up for grabs tonight, giving players a chance to win $900 million. The cash option for the jackpot is about $465 million.

If a player wins the $900 million jackpot, it would be the largest Powerball jackpot won this year. In February, a player in Washington won a $754.6 million jackpot.

Tonight’s drawing will be the 38th drawing since the Powerball jackpot was last won. The Powerball jackpot was won most recently in April, when one ticket purchased in Ohio matched the five white balls and the Powerball to win a $252.6 million jackpot.

The last Michigan player to win a Powerball jackpot was Cristy Davis, of Waterford. Davis won the game’s $70 million jackpot on Feb. 12, 2020.

Players have plenty of time to purchase tickets for the drawing. Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Powerball tickets until 9:45 p.m. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.

Powerball drawings take place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1.

Cheboygan County Man Wins $1 Million Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Luck Instant Game

TicketA Cheboygan County man has had “sleepless nights” since he won $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Luck instant game.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at the Indian River E-Z Mart, located at 4524 Straits Highway in Cheboygan.

“I bought two tickets and lost on the first one,” said the 44-year-old player. “When I started scratching the second ticket, the last thing I thought would happen was winning $1 million. When I revealed the winning symbol, I was more surprised than I have been in my entire life.

“I shared the news with my wife right away, and we’ve had a lot of sleepless night since. When I do sleep, all I can do is dream of what I will do with the money!”

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the prize. He chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000, rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, the player plans to pay bills, and then save the remainder.

Players have won more than $9.7 million playing Luck, which launched in June. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $1 million. More than $38.8 million in prizes remain, including two $1 million top prizes and 18 $2,000 prizes.

In 2022, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.

More Than $1.4 Billion Up For Grabs in Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots This Weekend

Michigan Lottery players have a shot at more than $1.4 billion this weekend with huge Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots up for grabs.

The Mega Millions jackpot currently stands at $560 million for tonight’s drawing. The cash option for the jackpot is $281 million. If a player wins tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot, it would be the second largest Mega Millions jackpot won this year and seventh largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won. The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in April, when one ticket purchased in New York matched the five white balls and Mega ball to win a $20 million jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in Michigan in January 2021 by an Oakland County lottery club. The club won a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot. That jackpot was the largest ever won in Michigan and the sixth largest in U.S. lottery history.

The Powerball jackpot currently stands at $875 million for Saturday’s drawing. The cash option for the jackpot is $452 million. If a player wins the Powerball jackpot, it would be the second largest Powerball jackpot won this year, and third largest Powerball jackpot ever won. The Powerball jackpot was last won in April, when one ticket purchased in Ohio matched the five white balls and the Powerball to win a $252.6 million jackpot.

For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Genesee County Woman Wins $6 Million Playing the Michigan Lottery’s $300,000,000 Diamond Riches Instant Game

TicketA Genesee County woman has won a $6 million top prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s $300,000,000 Diamond Riches instant game.

The lucky 69-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the Pure Market located at 8475 Main Street in Whitmore Lake.

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the prize. She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $4.1 million, rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount.

The player plans to save her winnings.

Players have won more than $278 million playing $300,000,000 Diamond Riches, which launched in July 2022. Each $50 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $50 up to $6 million. More than $54 million in prizes remain, including one $6 million top prize, 15 $50,000 prizes, and 142 $2,500 prizes.

In 2022, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.

Eaton County Man Wins $25,000 a Year for Life from the Michigan Lottery Playing Lucky For Life

TicketForgetting to check his ticket led to a Charlotte man walking around with a $25,000 a year for life Lucky For Life prize in his pocket.

Shea Nowlan won the big prize when his Lucky For Life ticket matched the five white balls drawn on Jan. 20: 02-10-28-30-44. He bought the winning ticket at ABC Liquor, located at 311 Lansing Street in Charlotte. Charlotte is about 20 miles southwest of Lansing.

“I saw the winning ticket was bought in Charlotte, and meant to check my ticket,” said Nowlan. “I ended up forgetting to check and then several weeks later saw the prize wasn’t claimed and that’s when I remembered to check my ticket.”

Nowlan visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000 rather than annuity payments of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is greater. He plans to save his winnings.

For just $2 per play, Lucky For Life gives Lottery players a chance to win prizes ranging from $3 to a lifetime of cash. To win the game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life, players must match all five winning numbers ranging from 1 to 48, plus one Lucky Ball ranging from 1 to 18. Players who match all five winning numbers, but not the Lucky Ball, will win $25,000 a year for life. Drawings take place at 10:38 p.m. seven days-a-week. Tickets may be purchased at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com.
