Winner claims $10,000

LANSING, October 17, 2007 – Patrick Monroe of Metamora won big when he matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the October 5 Mega Millions drawing.

Monroe claimed his $10,000 prize at the Lottery office in Sterling Heights and said he has no plans for the prize money.

The lucky own pick ticket was purchased at Gas and Tobacco Palace, 221 W. Genesee St., in Lapeer.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.

Lucky winner claims prize

LANSING, September 17, 2007 – One winner has claimed his $255,001 Fantasy 5 prize after matching all five numbers in the October 8 drawing.

The lucky anonymous winner said he was “shocked” to discover he had won.  He plans to use the prize money to pay off bills.

The player said he has been playing the Lottery for 20 years and used his birthdate and his friend’s birthdate to select his numbers.

The anonymous winner purchased the lucky own pick ticket at Beer, Wine and Beyond, 26310 Van Dyke Ave., in Center Line.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week.  Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Dorr man wins big

LANSING, October 17, 2007 – A very lucky player has claimed his $250,000 Mega Millions prize!

Super Raffle tickets sell out, drawing scheduled!

LANSING, October 15, 2007 – The 250,000 Super Raffle tickets, which went on sale Monday, September 17, have sold out!

The Super Raffle drawing will be conducted on October 22 when two prizes of $2 million, 25 prizes of $100,000, and 4,500 of $500 will be awarded. All 4,527 winning numbers will be posted on the Lottery’s Web site soon after the drawing.

The Super Raffle drawing will be drawing No. five in the Raffle game series.

“We are so pleased that our players have responded to the Super Raffle once again. We can’t wait to make thousands of players big winners!” said Acting Lottery Commissioner Tom Weber.

Players must present their original tickets in order to claim a prize. Players who win prizes of $2 million or $100,000 must call the Lottery Public Relations office at 517-373-1237 to schedule an appointment.

The two $2 million winning numbers will be displayed during the Lottery’s evening broadcast on October 22. Players will be able to check all winning numbers at the Lottery’s Web site on http://www.michigan.gov/lottery, at Lottery retailers or at Lottery regional offices throughout the state.

The next raffle, a $20 Millionaire Raffle, will go on sale November 19, just in time for the holiday gift-giving season.
