A Muskegon man started jumping for joy when he found out his Powerball ticket was a $100,000 winner!

William Beatty, 57, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 02-06-26-39-68, PB: 06 – in the July 1 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $100,000. He bought his winning ticket at the Wesco gas station, located at 1819 East Apple Avenue in Muskegon.

“I was at the gas station and got a Powerball ticket from the Lottery kiosk while I was there,” said Beatty. “I checked the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery app the next day, and when I saw I’d matched four white balls and the Powerball, I thought: ‘Wait a minute, did I just win big?’ I scanned my ticket and started jumping for joy when $100,000 came up on the screen!”

Beatty recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He plans to save his winnings.

Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.
