Winning TicketA Calhoun County man can breathe easier after winning $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire Maker instant game!

“I don’t play the lottery a lot, but whenever I feel like buying a ticket, I’ll buy one,” said the lucky 46-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I bought a Millionaire Maker ticket while I was at the store and then tucked it away to scratch later after work. When I saw it was a $1 million winner, I freaked out! It feels like I can breathe again.”

The player bought his winning ticket at Lakeview Liquor, located at 2497 Capital Avenue Southwest in Battle Creek. He recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to buy a new car and then save the remainder.

Players have won more than $110 million playing Millionaire Maker, which launched in September 2025. Each $50 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $75 up to $6 million. More than $201 million in prizes remain, including one $6 million top prize, nine $1 million prizes, 42 $10,000 prizes, and 1,764 $1,000 prizes.

In 2025, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.
