A Macomb County man broke out into a happy dance at work when he found out he won $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s 500X Money Maker second chance game!

The 53-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, won $100,000 after he was selected in a random drawing that took place July 2. He earned entries into the giveaway by scanning non-winning 500X Money Maker tickets on the Michigan Lottery app.

“I won a 500X Money Maker second chance prize in one of the previous drawings, so I decided to check my email while I was at work one day to see if by chance I had any emails about winning another prize,” said the player. “I didn’t see anything in my inbox, so I checked my spam box to be sure. Sure enough, there was an email from the Michigan Lottery regarding a second chance prize.

“When I opened the email and saw I’d won the $100,000 prize, I started jumping up and down! I’m not much of a dancer, but I even broke out into a happy dance because I was so excited! I called my wife right after to tell her the good news.”

The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. With his winnings, he plans to take a vacation and then save the remainder.

The 10th and final 500X Money Maker second chance drawing took place on July 2. Each drawing awarded:

• One winner of $100,000
• Five winners of $10,000
• Twenty winners of $1,000
• Sixty winners of $500

Michigan Lottery players will have a new second chance opportunity to win up to $100,000 beginning in August with the $300,000,000 Extraordinaire instant game. The new $50 game is scheduled to launch Aug. 6.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.
