It only took a few months for a St. Clair County man’s new set of numbers to pay off in a big way when he won a $500,000 Club Keno Extra prize from the Michigan Lottery.

The 64-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched eight of his Club Keno numbers – 01-05-08-18-27-33-46-55-64-71 – in the Extra drawing 2288598 to win the big prize. He bought his winning ticket at SD Liquor, located at 50093 North Gratiot Avenue in Chesterfield.

“I play Club Keno often, but I just started playing this new set of Club Keno numbers a few months ago,” said the player. “I scanned my ticket on the Lottery app when all the drawings were done. At first, I thought I’d won $500, but after a few seconds I realized it said $500,000 and I couldn’t believe it. Winning sure feels good!”

The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to purchase a new vehicle and then save the remainder.

Extra is a Club Keno add-on game that players may add to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw. With Extra, players have a chance to win up to $500,000 with their Club Keno numbers in the Extra drawing. Extra drawings occur after each Club Keno drawing. Ten Extra numbers are selected from the remaining 60 Club Keno numbers. Players match their numbers to the numbers selected in the Club Keno drawing and Extra drawing. Players can win prizes for matching numbers in both drawings.

Club Keno may be played at the 10,500 Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at MichiganLottery.com.
