An Oakland County man is planning to “start building his empire” after winning a $200,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Club Keno game.
The 45-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, won $20,000 when his Club Keno numbers – 01-03-04-07-11-16-24-29 – matched eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 2242363 on Sept. 5. Thanks to The KICKER, the prize was multiplied to $200,000. He bought his winning ticket at County Fair Market, located at 22828 Dequindre Road in Warren.
“I got a text from a friend asking if I won big playing Club Keno because he saw a $200,000 prize was won at the store I usually buy my tickets from,” said the player. “I’d just bought a Club Keno ticket from that store, so I pulled it out of my pocket and scanned it on the Lottery app.
“When the winning amount came up on the screen, all I could think was: ‘Wow it really was me!’ I’d never won a big prize like this, so it was pretty unbelievable!”
The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize.
“I plan to use my winnings to start a business and start building my empire,” the player said.
Club Keno gives players 37 different ways to play and win. Players select up to 10 numbers to match from one to 80, with prize amounts determined based on the amount the player wagered. Club Keno may be played at Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings are every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at MichiganLottery.com.
In 2022, Lottery players won more than $407 million playing Club Keno, The KICKER, The Extra, and The Jack.
