A lucky feeling led a Wayne County woman to winning $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s The Big Spin instant game.
The lucky 48-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at R & N Fast Track, located at 24344 Ecorse Road in Taylor.
“Me and my husband were watching TV one night, and I got a random urge to go buy a lottery ticket,” said the player. “I told my husband about this lucky feeling, so we went out and bought a few tickets and I scratched them when we got home. When I saw I’d won $1 million on my The Big Spin ticket, I called for my daughter and husband and had them look the ticket over. I’m still in shock and get shaky at the thought of winning $1 million!”
The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her prize. She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With her winnings, she plans to purchase a home and then save the remainder.
Players have won more than $13 million playing The Big Spin which launched in September. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $1 million. More than $58 million in prizes remain, including two $1 million top prizes, four $10,000 prizes, and 120 $1,000 prizes.
In 2021, Lottery players won more than $1.8 billion playing instant games.
