Grand Rapids Man Wins $25,000 a Year for Life Playing Lucky For Life

Lucky for Life LogoA recent retiree is looking forward to a life on Easy Street after winning $25,000 a year for life player Lucky For Life.

Mark Moroski, 67, matched the five white balls drawn Feb. 2 – 10-17-22-42-46 – to win the big prize. He bought the winning ticket online at

“I play Lucky For Life just about every day,” said Moroski. “I like playing online because it’s easy and I don’t have to worry about losing my ticket.

“The morning after the drawing, I had an email that said I won a big prize, so I logged into my Lottery account to check the amount. When I saw $25,000 a year for life waiting for me, I was floored!”

Moroski visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000 rather than annuity payments of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is greater. With his winnings, he plans to buy a new car and then save the remainder.

“I’ve been retired for a few years and winning this means I can relax and enjoy my retirement to the fullest,” Moroski said.

For just $2 per play, Lucky For Life gives Lottery players a chance to win prizes ranging from $3 to a lifetime of cash. To win the game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life, players must match all five winning numbers ranging from 1 to 48, plus one Lucky Ball ranging from 1 to 18. Players who match all five winning numbers, but not the Lucky Ball, will win $25,000 a year for life. Drawings take place at 10:38 p.m. seven days-a-week. Tickets may be purchased at Lottery retailers across the state and online at
