Indiana Woman Wins $1 Million Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Double Diamond Instant Game

$1 million winning Double Diamond ticketAn Indiana woman feels “financial relief” after winning $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Double Diamond instant game.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the Meijer gas station, located at 5019 Red Arrow Highway in Stevensville.

“My husband and I travel to Michigan quite a bit, especially in the summer,” said the 57-year-old player. “We stopped for gas, and I bought some draw tickets for my mom. I saw the diamond on the instant game ticket and decided to grab one at the last minute.

“I put the tickets in my purse and left them for a couple of days. When I finally sat down to scratch it off, I was surprised to see the $1 million prize. I kept thinking: ‘This can’t be right.’ So, I asked my husband to look at the ticket and he confirmed I had just won $1 million!”

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her prize. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With her winnings, she plans to pay bills and then save the remainder.

“Winning has given me such a sense of relief to know that I will comfortable financially for years to come,” the player said.

Players have won more than $13 million playing Double Diamond which launched in August. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $1 million. More than $39 million in prizes remain, including two $1 million top prizes, 13 $10,000 prizes, and 111 $2,000 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.

In 2021, Lottery players won more than $1.8 billion playing instant games.
