Mega Millions LogoA Clinton Township woman still feels numb weeks after winning a $1 million Mega Millions prize from the Michigan Lottery.

Marlena Lanni, 72, matched the five white balls – 08-11-29-32-40 – in the April 8 drawing to win a $1 million prize. She bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“I was checking my email before bed the night of the drawing and saw an email from the Michigan Lottery notifying me of a prize,” said Lanni. “When I logged on to my account and saw I had won a prize of $1 million, I immediately started shaking. I still feel numb and don’t have the words to describe this feeling!”

Lanni visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to complete some home repairs and then save the remainder.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mega Millions tickets may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com and at any of the Lottery’s 10,500 retailers around the state until 10:45 p.m. the day of the drawing.
