A Sanilac County man is planning a family vacation after winning a $240,297 Fantasy 5 jackpot.

Michael Lents, of Brown City, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the Dec. 30 drawing to win the big prize: 14-15-17-27-33. He bought his winning ticket at Linda Lou’s, located at 4397 Main Street in Brown City. Brown City is about 50 miles northeast of Flint.

“I play Fantasy 5 and Lotto 47 regularly and check my tickets the morning after the drawing,” said Lents. “When I scanned my Fantasy 5 ticket, I got a printout that said to file a claim at the Lottery office, but I didn’t get too excited because I didn’t know how much I’d won. When I found out I’d won the jackpot, I was very excited!”

Lents, 70, recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay bills and take his family on a vacation.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m.
