Genesee County Man Wins $500,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s $500 Reloaded Instant Game

A Genesee County man “doesn’t know what to feel or think” after winning $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s $500 Reloaded instant game.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at Money Convenience, located at 3020 Richfield Road in Flint.

“I like to play new instant games, so I purchased a few of the $500 reloaded tickets that came out this month,” said the player. “I scratched the tickets when I got to my car and when I saw I’d won $500,000, I got a knot in my stomach and was really nervous. I had my friend look the ticket over to make sure I was seeing it right.”

The 46-year-old player visited Lottery headquarters to claim his big prize. With his winnings, he plans to purchase a car, start a business, and start college funds for his children.

“I don’t know what to feel or think yet,” the player said. ‘It still doesn’t seem real!”

Players have won more than $3 million playing $500 Reloaded, which launched in earlier this month. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $500,000. More than $26 million in prizes remain, including two $500,000 top-prizes and 12,014 $500 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at 10,500 retailers across the state.

In 2020, Lottery players won more than $1.5 billion playing instant games.
