Ottawa County Woman Wins $300,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Bonus Ball Bingo Instant Game

An Ottawa County woman plans to pay it forward after winning $300,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Bonus Ball Bingo instant game.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the Sunnybrook Mobil, located at 4380 Kenowa Avenue Southwest in Grandville.

“I used to play the Bingo games a lot with my Dad, but stopped playing them when he passed away,” said the 58-year-old player. “I recently decided to start playing them again and purchased two when I was at the store.

“After scratching the first one, I thought I’d won my money back but realized I’d missed some numbers. When I scratched off the ones I’d missed, I had a blackout on card five. I was in total disbelief. I stared at the ticket for a while going over the numbers again and again.”

The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings she plans to invest and pay it forward.

Players have won more than $18 million playing Bonus Ball Bingo, which launched in August 2020. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. More than $26 million in prizes remain, including four $300,000 top-prizes, six $12,000 prizes,12 $10,000 prizes, 50 $2,000 prizes, and 85 $1,000 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at 10,500 retailers across the state.
