Michigan Lottery Named Operator of the Year by eGaming Review

The Michigan Lottery has been named Lottery Operator of the Year by eGaming Review (EGR).

The Lottery Operator of the Year category celebrates operators that demonstrate success in the lottery sector, with particular regard for growth and commercial success, innovation and differentiation, quality of product, and branding and marketing.

The success of the Lottery’s online platform led to a 25% year-over-year (FY18 vs. FY19) increase in net revenue for online games. The Lottery is recognized as the leading operator of online games in North America, outpacing the next top grossing online lottery operation in the U.S. by more than 160%.

The EGR North America Awards are regarded as the premier gaming awards for companies operating in the North American market, recognizing leading operators for outstanding performance and innovation.

Judges for this year’s awards recognized the Lottery’s “very impressive performance. To be so far ahead of other US iLottery operators is a testament to excellent performance across the board.” The Lottery’s iLottery program was hailed as an “innovative approach to the lottery experience” with “many well-thought innovations across payments, product and marketing.” The remarks concluded by commending the Michigan Lottery’s “impressive focus on player protection.”

While online sales have flourished, the Lottery continues to focus on promoting responsible gaming across all channels. The Lottery was the first to achieve iCAP certification, the highest standard of accreditation in responsible gaming by the National Council on Problem Gambling. Additionally, the Lottery’s online services include gaming safeguards, including self-exclusion, deposit limits, age and identity verification, play history, and residency policy.

Michigan Lottery players have a chance to win up to $500,000 instantly playing online. Players also may win prizes ranging from $1 up to multi-million dollar jackpots playing Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life, Lotto 47, and Fantasy 5 online.
