A Muskegon County man is planning to invest in his business after winning $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s 50X The Cash instant game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at the Wesco gas station, located at 1025 East Pontaluna Road in Spring Lake.
“When I scratched the ticket off and saw it was a $1 million winner, I screamed: ‘This can’t be real!’” said the 45-year-old player. “You dream of winning, but to see that $1 million dream come true is something else.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. He chose to accept his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $634,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, the player plans to invest in his business.
Players have won more than $43 million playing 50X The Cash, which launched in January 2019. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $1 million. More than $13 million in prizes remain, including one $1 million prize, 26 $10,000 prizes, and 144 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 10,500 retailers across the state.
In 2019, Lottery players won more than $1.2 billion playing instant games.
