A Rockford man is looking forward to “financial relief” after winning a $200,830 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

Randy Vansingel, 63, matched the matched the Fantasy 5 numbers drawn on Monday to win the big prize 09-27-28-31-34. He bought his winning ticket at the Mobil gas station, located at 11800 Northland Drive Northeast in Rockford.

“I play a few numbers for Fantasy 5 each day,” said Vansingel. “Every morning before I head to work, I check my tickets. This morning I got the surprise of a lifetime!

“I was yelling for my wife, Joni, and could hardly get the words out to tell her I’d won the jackpot. We both had to rub our eyes and read the numbers a few times before we could believe it.

“It’s been a tough few years and this is going to give us some financial relief. I won’t have to work overtime any more just to make ends meet.”

Vansingel recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize.

“I’m going to pay all of my bills and then take Joni out for a lobster dinner if there’s enough left over,” Vansingel said.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing.
