A Mecosta County woman is looking forward to financial relief after winning a $276,903  Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

“My husband called the winning number hotline the night of the drawing to check our numbers,” said the 69-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous. “When he realized we had matched all five numbers, he had to wake me up to double check the ticket because he couldn’t believe it.

“We decided to wait until the morning to check the numbers on the Michigan Lottery website. When we looked the next morning and saw where the winning ticket was sold, we knew it was real. It was such a great feeling. ”

The lucky player matched the Fantasy 5 numbers drawn on March 6 – 02-07-13-26-34 – to win the jackpot. She bought her winning ticket at the Country Corner Supermarket, located at 10039 Buchanan Road in Stanwood.

“There are two words to describe it: relief and excitement,” said the player. “Winning this prize is surreal. It will bring us such financial relief.”

The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to retire, pay bills, and save the remainder.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000.
