A Wayne County man is looking forward to paying off his house after winning a $416,616 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s 100X The Cash Fast Cash game.
“Paying my house off at 40 years old is the most amazing feeling in the world,” said the winner, who chose to remain anonymous.
The player bought his winning ticket at the Citgo gas station, located at 20913 Gibralter Road in Brownstown Township.
“I stop at the Citgo each day on my way to work to grab a couple things to get my day started,” said the player. “I had won a few bucks on some instant games, so I decided to buy a 100X The Cash Fast Cash ticket.
“When the clerk printed the ticket, it jammed in the machine and almost ripped in half. I didn’t want to take the ticket because I thought it was bad luck. I asked for a new ticket, but the clerk talked me in to taking the torn one. I am so glad I took his advice! I’m going to go back and share some of this with him because he’s the reason I’m here today.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters Monday to claim the big prize. In addition to paying off his house, he plans to set up a college fund for his son, and then save the remainder.
“I feel like I’m walking around in a dream. No debt over my head is a dream come true!” the player said.
Fast Cash games are a series of instant-win games that print from terminals at Lottery retailers. Fast Cash tickets range in price from $1 per play up to $20 per play.
