The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, was one of two winners of the Lotto 47 jackpot on Wednesday. He matched all six Lotto 47 numbers drawn: 05-12-24-31-35-42. Each winner won $4.82 million. The player bought his winning ticket at The Silver House Liquor, located at 16661 25 Mile Road in Macomb Township. This is the second big winner bought recently at Silver House Liquor. The lucky store also sold the $4 million Super Raffle winning ticket.
“My wife and I play the Lottery regularly,” said the 54-year-old winner. “We heard Silver House Liquor had sold the Super Raffle winner, so we decided we’d buy our tickets there.
“We stopped in to Silver House Liquor Thursday to check our tickets. We asked the clerk for a print out of the numbers and as my wife checked them over, she screamed: ‘Oh my god, we won!’ I looked the ticket over and we both had so much adrenaline rushing through our bodies that we felt like we were going to be sick.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters Friday to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $3 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to pay bills, share with family, donate to charity, and take a family vacation.
The second winning Lotto 47 ticket from the Oct. 10 drawing was bought at B&D Mini Mart, located at 32 West Munger Road in Munger. The lucky ticket holder should contact the Lottery’s Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to make an appointment to claim the prize at the Lottery headquarters in Lansing. Lotto 47 tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date.
Each Lotto 47 play is only $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and grows until someone wins it.
