A Lansing man felt numb after winning a $56,675 Club Keno The Jack prize from the Michigan Lottery.
Micheal Abbott, 57, won the big prize when his easy pick The Jack numbers – 35-50-57-60-67-69-71-75 – matched eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 1588119 on Tuesday evening. He bought his winning ticket at Leroy’s Classic Bar and Grill, located at 1526 South Cedar in Lansing.
“I watched several of the draws on my ticket, but missed the last couple,” said Abbott. “When I took my ticket up to the bar to have it scanned, the bartender told me I had to go to the Lottery office.
“I figured I had won with the KICKER and that the prize would be about $600. I decided to use the Lottery app to scan my ticket, and that’s when confetti started falling on the screen and I saw I’d won $56,675! As soon as I read that, my body went numb. There was a commotion all around me, but I was so focused in on my phone and the prize amount that I couldn’t really celebrate with everyone.”
Abbott visited Lottery headquarters on Thursday to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay bills, help his son pay for his college tuition, take a trip to Las Vegas, and then save the remainder.
“Winning this money is life changing for me,” Abbott said.
