A Kalamazoo County man is looking forward to camping trips with his family after winning $300,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s 25th Anniversary Wild Time instant game.
David Elben II, of Vicksburg, bought his winning ticket at RPM Beer and Wine, located at 2198 West Gun Lake Road in Hastings.
“I can’t believe I scratched off a $300,000 winner,” said Elben. “I’m a popular guy now! My ex even called me up and wants to get back together!”
The 36-year-old Elben visited Lottery headquarters Friday to claim his big prize.
“I’ve already picked out a new house, and I’m going to buy a camper too,” said Elben. “I’m looking forward to taking trips with my kids.
“I’ve worked hard my whole life to provide for them and it will be nice to be able to give them the childhood they deserve.”
Players have won more than $22 million playing 25th Anniversary Wild Time, which launched in December 2017. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. More than $7 million in prizes remain, including three $25,000 prizes, and 10 $2,500 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
In 2017, Lottery players won more than $960 million playing instant games.
