A Wayne County woman felt “numb” after winning a $159,577 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers drawn Thursday – 09-19-21-30-35 – to win the jackpot. She bought her winning ticket at the Citgo gas station, located at 32912 Cherry Hill Road in Garden City.

“I checked my ticket and was excited because I thought I’d matched three numbers,” said the player. “I asked my son to take a look at my ticket and when he said: ‘You won the jackpot!’ I said: ‘Thank you God!’

“My whole body felt numb at that point, and still does! I can’t describe how it feels to win!”

The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters Monday to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to complete some home repairs, and then save the remainder.

“It’s nice to have some financial comfort, because you never know when something will happen and you’ll need that money,” the player said.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tonight’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is $100,000.
