Winning a $176,727 Fantasy 5 jackpot left a Menominee County man pale and in shock.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, won the big prize by matching the numbers drawn March 24: 20-27-29-35-38. He bought his winning ticket at the Krist Food Mart, located at 102 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba.

“I checked the first three numbers on the Michigan Lottery app, and then had my wife check the next two,” said the player. “When she told me I’d won, she said I turned ‘white as a ghost.’”

The player visited Lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay off debt and then invest the remainder in his business.

“Winning is a game changer for me and my family. To be able to put a nice sized investment in our business will benefit my family for years to come,” the player said.
