A $213,481 Fantasy 5 jackpot came at the “perfect time” for a Detroit woman, facing an uncertain future at her job.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the numbers drawn Feb. 28 to win the big prize: 06-14-22-24-39. She bought her winning ticket at the Citgo gas station, located at 15911 Livernois Avenue in Detroit.

“I play the Daily 3 and Daily 4 games every day, and when the Fantasy 5 jackpot is up there, I play that too,” said the player. “I was at the Citgo the day after the drawing getting my Daily 3 and Daily 4 tickets when I checked the Fantasy 5 on the scanner.

“I told the clerk his scanner must be broken, so he scanned the ticket for me. As soon as he saw the message on my terminal he told me to leave right away because I had won the jackpot.

“There’s never a bad time to win a jackpot, but I’m facing some uncertainty with my job, so the timing couldn’t have been better.”

The 49-year-old player visited Lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to pay for her daughter’s high school tuition, take her family on a trip to Paris, and then save the remainder.

“Winning takes so much pressure away. I can sit back a little bit, take care of my kids, and put some money in the bank,” the player said.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tonight’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is $105,000.
