A Macomb County woman is feeling financially secure after winning $500,000 playing Club Keno Extra.

The player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched eight of her Club Keno numbers in the Extra drawing 1557061 to win the big prize. The player bought her winning ticket at the BP gas station, located at 47100 West Pontiac Trail in Walled Lake.

“I stopped on my lunch break to fill up my vehicle and I bought a Club Keno ticket with Extra,” said the player. “When I got back to work, I watched the drawing on the Lottery’s app and when I saw the numbers come in I was stunned. It was hard to focus on work for the rest of the day.

“When I got home, I showed my husband the ticket and we watched the drawing replay again and again.”

The 42-year-old player visited Lottery headquarters on Wednesday to claim her big prize. With her winnings, she plans to pay off her debt and then save the remainder.

“My husband and I have always worked hard and winning this means we won’t have to worry about our finances any more. It means less time working overtime and more time spent together,” the player said.

Extra is a Club Keno add-on game that players may add to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw. With Extra, players have another chance to win up to $500,000 with their Club Keno numbers in the Extra drawing. Extra drawings occur after each Club Keno drawing. Ten Extra numbers are selected from the remaining 60 Club Keno numbers. Players match their numbers to the numbers selected in the Club Keno drawing and Extra drawing. Players can win prizes for matching numbers in both drawings. Numbers from the Club Keno drawing and Extra drawing may not be combined for a higher prize.

Club Keno may be played at the 11,000 Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at http://www.michiganlottery.com.
