It took a Lapeer County woman two days to realize she’d won $50,010 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Blackjack Doubler game online.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.
“My sister and I were playing cards, and I was also playing online games on my phone, but I thought I was in demo mode,” said the 44-year-old player. “A couple of days later I logged into my account and got an alert that I had a pending prize and saw I had $50,010 waiting to be claimed.”
The first call the player made was to her sister to share the good news.
“She didn’t believe me at all,” said the player. “She kept saying: ‘Oh yeah, right! That’s just B.S.’ After I called the Lottery to confirm the prize, we were both shocked. The day I won was pretty lucky for me, I also won $500 on a Millionaire’s Club scratch off.”
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters on Wednesday to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to help some family members and take a trip.
