The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, won the big prize when his easy pick The Jack numbers – 03-13-14-24-31-41-55-64 – matched eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 1462201 Wednesday. He bought the winning ticket at the Next Door Store, located at 308 South Nicolet Street in Mackinaw City.
“I was on a break from work when I stopped to grab a bite to eat and buy a Club Keno ticket,” said the player. “I checked it later in the day and when I saw the numbers on my ticket matched the ones drawn I thought I had made a mistake.”
After realizing what he saw was no mistake, the player called his wife to share the good news.
“My wife was incredibly excited, and still is,” said the player. “I found someone to cover the rest of my shift so I could go home and get some rest before coming to Lansing, but neither of us slept at all.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters Thursday to claim his big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay bills, take his wife on a European vacation for their anniversary later this year, and then save the remainder.
“Winning is such an overwhelming feeling. I’m very thankful to God that this has happened to me,” the player said.
The Jack is a Club Keno add-on game that players may add to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw. With The Jack, players get eight easy pick numbers to match to the Club Keno numbers drawn. Players may win prizes ranging from $1 to the jackpot. The jackpot starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. To win the jackpot, players must match all eight numbers.
Club Keno may be played at the 11,000 Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at http://www.michiganlottery.com.
In 2016, Lottery players won about $412.5 million playing Club Keno, The KICKER, and The Jack.
