Years of playing Fantasy 5 paid off in a big way for a Wayne County woman.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, was one of two players to match the numbers drawn April 12 – 16-17-23-27-34 – to win half of the jackpot. She bought her winning ticket at the Westland Party Store, located at 34745 Warren Road in Westland. Both winners will receive $52,500.

“I play Fantasy 5 every day, but never expected to win big,” said the player. “I’ve won $100 a couple of times, but I can’t believe I won the jackpot.”

The player visited Lottery headquarters Monday to claim her big prize. She still is deciding what to do with her windfall.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tonight’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is $110,000.
