The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at the Family Fare, located at 1525 Michigan Avenue West in Battle Creek.

“I turned in a winning ticket that I had gotten for my birthday and used the money to buy a ticket,” said the 83-year-old player. “The clerk asked me if I wanted one more and I heard a little voice in my head say ‘yes,’ so I bought an extra ticket.”

Listening to that voice turned out to be a shrewd move for the player. She won $300,000 on the extra ticket she bought.

“I just couldn’t believe it when I scratched it off,” said the player. “I had two trusted friends look the ticket over to verify I was a big winner.”

The player visited Lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim her big prize.

The player said she had no big plans for her new found wealth: “Just live. It was meant for me to win.”

Players have won more than $7.7 million playing Bingo Plus, which launched in October 2016. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. More than $15.2 million in prizes remain, including one $300,000 top prize, four $12,000 prizes, seven $10,000 prizes, 27 $2,000 prizes, and 67 $1,000 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.

In 2016, Lottery players won nearly $817 million playing instant games.
