Winning a $162,814 Fantasy 5 jackpot left a 22-year-old Michigan Lottery player stunned.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers drawn on Feb. 6 – 20-24-31-36-39 – to win the big prize. The player bought his winning ticket at the Vogue Market, located at 9200 Cadieux Street in Detroit.

“I must have looked at my ticket and the winning number printout a million times,” said the player. “I just kept shaking my head in disbelief. It wasn’t until my dad looked at the ticket and confirmed it was a winner that I believed I was the jackpot winner.

“I was in such shock after winning that I couldn’t do anything. I was worried I might misplace the ticket, so I put it under my bed for safekeeping.”

The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters on Monday to claim the big prize. With his winnings he plans to invest.

“I’ve been wondering how I could pay for school, and investing in my education would be great,” the player said.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000.
