A Shiawassee County man received a Christmas gift he’ll never forget: a $300,000 winning Winter Lucky Times 10 instant game ticket.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, received the ticket as a Christmas gift from a coworker. The winning ticket was bought at the Meijer store, located at 2474 West Hill Road in Flint.
“I stared at the ticket in disbelief for 10 minutes before realizing it was a winner,” said the player. “It was definitely the best Christmas gift I’ve received.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay some bills, buy a new vehicle, and celebrate his 20th anniversary with his wife.
Players have won more than $2.7 million playing Winter Lucky Times 10, which launched earlier this month. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. More than $9 million in prizes remain, including two $300,000 prizes, and 10 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
In 2015, Lottery players won more than $722.1 million playing instant games.
