New homes, new cars, luxury vacations, and financial security top the wish lists of Michigan Lottery players. In 2016, the Lottery helped make those dreams come true for countless players who collected a record $1.9 billion in prizes.
The top 10 prizes for 2016 accounted for nearly $32.2 million in winnings for players.
All told, the Lottery made 45 players millionaires in 2016. With a $4.2 million Lotto 47 jackpot topping the list of big winners, the top prizes Michigan Lottery won in 2016 (through Dec. 27) were:
- $4.2 million Lotto 47 jackpot, won by a Mason County lottery club, on Jan. 9
- $4 million $100,000,000 Diamonds top prize, won by a Kalamazoo County man, on June 8
- $4 million Max Money top prize, won by an Otsego County man, on June 20
- $4 million $100,000,000 Diamonds top prize, won by an Oakland County man, on Aug. 1
- $4 million World Class Millions prize, won by a Muskegon County man, on Aug. 8
- $4 million $100,000,000 Diamonds top prize, won by an Oakland County Man, on Oct. 5
- $2.02 million Lotto 47 jackpot, won by a Kalkaska County woman, on May 11
- $2 million Ultimate Millions top prize, won by an Oakland County man, on Feb. 17
- $2 million 100X the Cash top prize, won by a Lapeer County man, on March 28
- $2 million Ultimate Millions top prize, won by a Wayne County woman, on May 24
- $2 million Mega Millions prize, won by John Swisher, of Livingston County, on Aug. 26
- $2 million 100X the Cash top prize, won by Wanda Hill of Clinton County, on Nov. 14
