The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at the Wilder Party Store, located at 2951 East Wilder Road in Bay City.
“I was on my way to go fishing when a lucky feeling just hit me,” said the player. “When I saw the Wilder Party Store, I decided to stop and get some Lottery tickets.”
That stop paid off in a big way for the player.
“I didn’t believe the store owner when he told me I had a $1 million winner,” said the player. “I just couldn’t believe it.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim his prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $634,000 rather than an annuity. The player plans to invest his winnings.
Players have won more than $10.5 million playing Deluxe 7s Playbook, which debuted in August. Each $20 playbook features six pages of instant games and gives players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $1 million. More than $33.6 million in prizes remain, including: two $1 million top prizes, 45 $5,000 prizes, and 1,303 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
In 2015, Lottery players won more than $722.1 million playing instant games.
