A Pontiac man “panicked” after realizing he won a $262,762 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 number drawn on Aug. 31 – 10-20-32-35-38 – to win the big prize. He bought his winning ticket at the In N Out Food Store, located at 687 University Drive in Pontiac.
“I was home alone when I checked my tickets and I just panicked after seeing I’d matched all five numbers,” said the player. “I walked up to the gas station near my house to get a print out of the winning numbers just to make sure I really won.”
When the player woke up the next morning, he was still in disbelief.
“When I woke up, I just felt like it had all been a dream,” said the player. “I walked back to the gas station to get another print out of the numbers, and that’s when I finally started to believe I had won the jackpot.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters today to claim his prize. With his winnings he plans to buy a new vehicle, buy a new home, take a trip with his wife, and then save the remainder.
Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tonight’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is $105,000.
