A Jackson man hit big playing the Michigan Lottery’s Hit $250 instant game.

Adam Jordan, 47, was running errands on his day off from work when he decided to stop and buy Lottery instant tickets at the Albion Beer Well, located at 27815 C Drive North in Albion.

“I was driving through Albion and feeling pretty hungry so I stopped for lunch and bought some Hit $250 tickets,” said Jordan. “I scratched them off while I was eating and was in total shock when I saw I had won $500,000.

“Once I stopped shaking, I sent a picture of the ticket to my friend. He called me a few seconds later screaming hysterically because I had won.”

Jordan visited Lottery headquarters today to claim his big prize. He plans to invest his winnings.

“I’m not planning to spend any of this right away, but it sure will make my retirement account look pretty good,” Jordan said.

Players have won more than $6.3million playing Hit $250, which launched in April. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $500,000. More than $37 million in prizes remain, including three $500,000 top prizes, and 93 $1,000 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.

In 2015, Lottery players won more than $722.1 million playing instant games.
