Sally Ann Brock and her husband, Dale, smile after claiming a $100,000 prize she won playing Bonus Ball Bingo.
A Newaygo County woman believes wishful thinking helped her win a $100,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Bonus Ball Bingo instant game.
Sally Ann Brock, of Grant, bought her winning ticket at Plumb’s Valu-Rite Foods, located at 193 West River Valley Drive in Newaygo.
“I remember seeing that I only needed ‘G-55’ to get an ‘X’ on my ticket to win $100,000 while I was scratching my ticket,” said Brock. “I even said ‘It would be nice if I won’ and thought about what I would do with the money.
“The next number I scratched off was G-55. I was in disbelief!”
Brock couldn’t believe her eyes and at first thought she might only have won $100.
“I took my ticket to a retailer to have the clerk scan it for me so I would know what I won,” said Brock. “The clerk scanned it and told me it was a $100,000 winner and to sign the back of it right away.”
Brock visited Lottery headquarters Tuesday with her husband, Dale, and sister-in-law, Annette, to claim her big prize. With her winnings, Brock plans to renovate her family’s home.
Players have won more than $3.5 million playing Bonus Ball Bingo, which launched in March. Each $3 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $3 up to $100,000. More than $6.3 million in prizes remain, including one $100,000 top prize, and 61 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
In 2015, Lottery players won more than $722.1 million playing instant games.
