The player, who chose to remain anonymous, was out on a work errand when he bought his winning ticket at the Amoco station located at 11590 10 Mile Road in Warren. He scratched off the ticket when he got back to work and immediately shared his big news with co-workers.
“I still can’t believe this is real. It’s going to take a while for this to sink in for me,” he said Wednesday when he claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters. The player described himself as a regular Lottery player and said the biggest prize that he’d won previously was $1,000.
The player chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum cash payment of $634,517. Despite his new financial status, the winner said he plans to continue working and to buy a house and pay off bills.
Nearly $12.4 million in prizes still are available for the $1,000,000 Dazzler instant game, including 27 $5,000 prizes and $118 $1,000 prizes. The game debuted on Sept. 2, 2014.
Lottery instant game tickets may be purchased at retailers across the state.
