A trip to Lover’s Lane led to an $82,000 Club Keno prize for a lucky Kalamazoo County woman.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the Lover’s Lane Mart, located at 1256 East Centre Street in Portage. Her winning ticket matched five of the numbers drawn – 19-28-36-38-45 – in Club Keno draw number 1165939 on Jan. 3 to win the big prize.

“I play the Lottery regularly and use my winnings to pay for college,” said the player. “I knew this ticket was a winner, so I set it aside and waited to cash it when I had some school bills due.

“I thought I had won $8,000, but when I came to the Lottery office on Tuesday the woman I gave my ticket to told me I had actually won $82,000. I was floored and I started to cry. The whole day was so unbelievable. I was so excited to win $8,000, but winning $82,000 is a whole different kind of excitement. I just kept hugging my mom.”

The lucky player wagered $20 per draw and added the Kicker option to her ticket to win $82,000.

“Since I needed to make an appointment to claim my prize, my mom and I headed home,” said the player. “I was in such shock that we actually got lost on the way home.”

Once they got home, the fact that she had won $82,000 started to sink in.

The player, who is studying to become a doctor, plans to put her big prize to good use.

“This money will go a long way toward helping me reach my goal of becoming a doctor. I’ve been paying my way through college as I go, and this will be a life changer for me,” the player said.

One of the Lottery’s most popular games, Club Keno gives players 37 different ways to play and win.
