A Gratiot County woman thought she was having a heart attack after realizing she’d won $250,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s 50X The Cash instant game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the Speedway gas station, located at 7321 North Alger Road in Alma.
The player, recently visited Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim her big prize. She said she first thought she had won $25,000, then was shocked when she realized the prize was actually $250,000.
With her winnings, she plans to purchase a new vehicle and invest the remainder.
Players have won more than $25.7 million playing 50X The Cash, which launched in January. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $1 million. More than $41.3 million in prizes remain, including one $1 million prize, seven $250,000 prizes, 207 $10,000 prizes, and 2,085 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
